IMPORTANT NOTE ADDING LIVE ROCK TO A TANK CONTAINING FISH OR CORALS
Although our live rock has been treated ,cleaned, and pre-cured, it is imperative to do a final cure of the live rock
once again upon receipt, before it is placed in the display aquarium that contains fish, coral, or inverts since some
normal additional die off will occur on the live rock during transit which may cause a spike in ammonia for a few days.

Tonga Shelf Live Rock also called Tonga Slab live rock comes from the Island of Tonga in the
Pacific. This is flat rock, excellent for making areas to place live coral. Chosen as the highest
grade Tonga live rock available, it is the highest quality available and once established in your
tank, it has an incredible assortment of color. It has a high capacity for bacteria growth. It also
produces some small sps corals after a few months in an established tank. We recommend shelf
rock be used as an added touch to other forms of live rock. All Quality Marine Life live rock is
placed in our huge vats featuring high power skimmers and high current flow. We deal with only
the best collectors , who grade the rock based on shape and coralline algae coverage. After the
rock is flown in, it is unpackaged and sorted into the appropriate bins by size. When an order
comes in, each piece is wrapped individually, and packaged in an insulated shipping box. You
may alter the sizes and shape of your live rock with a hammer and chisel. This will not damage
the integrity of the rock, nor it's inhabitants. Please be careful to wear eye protection if you are
chiseling live rock. Tonga Shelf Live Rock is easy to maintain in either a reef or fish only aquarium,
and makes an excellent addition for both the beginner or experienced hobbyist. Tonga Shelf live
rock requires moderate lighting and moderate water movement, along with the addition of calcium,
strontium, iodine, and trace elements.
